About Thomas

Thomas Shin serves as the leader of the firm's Organization practice in Korea. He is an expert in the global Advanced Manufacturing & Services, Chemicals, Energy & Natural Resources and Infrastructure, Construction & Building Products practices. He is also a global steering committee member of Bain's Results Delivery® Group.

He has more than 25 years of industry and consulting experience, both in the United States and Korea.

Thomas has advised clients in a broad range of industries, including industrial goods and services, telecommunications, electronics, healthcare, consumer products and retail. His functional experience includes developing and implementing strategy, growth, business transformation and turnaround strategies; valuation, restructuring and transformation and assessing market opportunities for multinational and Korean companies (both inbound and outbound). He also is spearheading the creation of eco-systems in Korea to serve the diverse growing needs of clients in this time of digital transition.

Thomas served as Bain Seoul's office head from 2002 to 2010. He serves and advises many of the top Korean chaebols and executives, as well as foreign multinational corporations.

Prior to joining Bain, Thomas was the founder and Managing Director of another management consulting firm in Korea.

Thomas holds an MBA from University of Chicago and graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University with a bachelor's degree in economics.
