Melanie (Mel) Sanders leads our Retail practice in Asia-Pacific and is a member of our Consumer Products and Customer Strategy & Marketing practices.
Mel advises retail and consumer products clients on driving profitable growth through developing and implementing customer led growth strategies. She has worked extensively across the retail sector in Australia and Asia, advising many of Asia’s iconic retailers across ecommerce, department stores, convenience, grocery, shopping malls, restaurants and entertainment. She has also worked extensively in FMCG categories across most categories of food and beverage.
She is Bain’s leading expert on retail ecosystems. She is sought after for her views on retail trends and digital disruption, and has appeared on the BBC, Bloomberg, Money FM, The Economist, Australian Financial Review, ABC and Sky News.
Mel has more than 20 years of management consulting experience and holds deep expertise in large customer-driven transformations, innovation, digital, merchandising and M&A.
She has an MBA from Melbourne Business School and is a graduate of Melbourne University, and holds a Bachelor of Science.
She is a member of Chief Executive Women and a passionate advocate for diversity and gender equality.
