António Farinha is a leader of the firm's Utilities & Renewables and Energy & Natural Resources practices in South America. He has more than 20 years of experience in management consulting.
António has broad experience working with senior management of several industries, particularly in energy and utilities - Generation, Trading, Transmission, Distribution -, and large energy consumers. He also worked in sectors such as water and waste, financial services and retail.
António has led engagements for more than 15 different utilities groups in South America in topics such as: Corporate transformation (5+); Strategic planning and growth strategy (15+); Energy strategy and risk management (10+); Performance Improvement (20+); Governance and organization (15+); M&A and Post Merger Integration (10+); Regulatory issues (10+)
He also has experience in working with the sector’s trade organizations, BNDES and MME (Mining and Energy Ministry). He is currently leading an effort to propose to MME a revision of current sectorial model and regulations.
Prior to joining Bain, he worked for Roland Berger in Brazil, as Managing Partner, and also served the same company in Italy and Portugal.
António graduated in Economics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Portugal) and holds a MBA with honors from INSEAD (France/ Singapore).
He is fluent in Portuguese and English.
