Jed joined Bain in 1999 and has been a leader in Bain’s Private Equity and Advanced Manufacturing & Services practices since becoming a Partner in 2005. He co-founded the Chicago Private Equity practice in 2005 and managed it for many years. Jed has led more than 300 diligence assignments and growth strategy, cost reduction and performance improvement engagements for PE-owned portfolio companies.
Over the past 18 years, Jed has led Bain’s relationships with sophisticated middle market private equity investors. In addition to his client responsibilities, Jed led Bain’s recruiting efforts at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business for a decade, served on the Board of the graduate school’s Business Solutions Group for 15 years, and was recognized with the Angel Alumni Award for exceptional alumni engagement and contributions to Booth.
Following his graduation from Dartmouth, Jed began his management consulting career with another consulting group in 1993, spending four years with the firm's Process and Strategy groups. He helped industrial products clients on logistics and supply chains, working from offices in Miami and Atlanta, with extended assignments in France and South Korea.
Jed's academic credentials include an MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business (High Honors), and both an AB degree and a BS degree in electrical engineering from Dartmouth College (Honors).
